Psychology Courses

This page displays some of the most important works of my psychology career: ones which changed the way I think about my major and advanced my knowledge in the subject matter as a whole. These classes were crucial to shaping my interests.

Micro-Credentials Portfolio

Psychology Micro-Credentials  Spring 2023

The Micro-Credentials Program allows select psychology students to do an independent experiential and/or research project in an area of their choosing. They are partnered with a faculty mentor (or mentors) to help them complete the project based on mutual interests. I applied for the mental health micro-credential and, under the supervision of two faculty mentors, was able to observe La Luz, a program which teaches soon-to-be mothers about relationship skills, self-care, and mindfulness. I then did a write-up of each section and created a new, theoretical "next session" to the program.

The Efficacy of Treating Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) with 3,4- Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA)

Psychedelic Medicine  Fall 2022

I took my Psychedelic Medicine course as part of the psychology track while studying abroad in Fall of 2022. This course centered on investigating how small doses of psychedelics, such as mushrooms, ayahuasca, and ecstasy, might be used to promote mental health or improve existing psychotherapy/psychopharmacology options. The course culminated in a final essay investigating the treatment of a specific disorder using one psychedelic, which turned out to be one of the toughest pieces of writing I have ever created. I chose to investigate how microdoses of MDMA may be used to treat PTSD: history, current research, and future directions.
